Brownies

Method

Brownies Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.

  6. 6

    Bake Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. 7

    Cool Brownies

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Hot Fudge Sauce Preparation

  1. 8

    Heat the Cream

In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer, but do not boil.

  2. 9

    Melt Chocolate

Remove from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and cocoa powder, stirring until melted and smooth.

  3. 10

    Add Syrup and Vanilla

Stir in the light corn syrup and vanilla extract until fully combined.

Sundae Assembly

  1. 11

    Prepare the Sundae

In a serving bowl, place a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Cut brownie squares into pieces and layer them on top of the ice cream.

  2. 12

    Add Hot Fudge

Pour warm hot fudge sauce generously over the brownies and ice cream.

  3. 13

    Garnish

Top with chopped nuts, whipped cream, and a cherry if desired.
