Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Cook your choice of vegetable according to package instructions or sauté in a pan with a little butter until tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the sourdough slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pot Roast

In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the sliced pot roast until heated through.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

If using pre-made mashed potatoes, heat them in a microwave or on the stove. If making from scratch, boil peeled potatoes until tender, then mash with butter, salt, and pepper.

  5. 5

    Heat the Gravy

In a small saucepan, heat the beef gravy over low heat until warmed through.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Open-Faced Sandwich

On each toasted sourdough slice, layer a generous portion of mashed potatoes, followed by the sliced pot roast. Pour warm beef gravy over the top.

  7. 7

    Serve

Plate the open-faced roast beef sandwiches with the cooked vegetable on the side. Enjoy!
