Pimento Cheese

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Pimento Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, grated sharp cheddar cheese, diced pimentos, and mayonnaise. Mix well until the ingredients are completely blended.

  2. 2

    Season the Cheese

Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the cheese mixture. Adjust seasoning according to your taste. Mix until evenly distributed.

  3. 3

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the pimento cheese for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 4

    Toast the Bread

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the slices of walnut wheat bread to the skillet and toast until golden brown on both sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread a generous amount of the chilled pimento cheese on two slices of the toasted walnut wheat bread. Layer with leafy lettuce and tomato slices. Top with the remaining slices of bread.

  3. 6

    Serve

Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately while warm, with additional pimento cheese on the side if desired.
