Benedictine Spread

Method

Benedictine Spread Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Spread

In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Stir in the grated cucumber, chopped green onions, and fresh dill until well combined.

  3. 3

    Season the Spread

Season the mixture with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

  4. 4

    Chill

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the spread for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood-smoked bacon until crispy, about 4-6 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Bread

Lay out the slices of walnut wheat bread on a clean surface.

  3. 7

    Spread the Benedictine

Spread a generous amount of the chilled benedictine spread on one side of each slice of bread.

  4. 8

    Layer Ingredients

On four slices of bread, layer crispy bacon, fresh lettuce leaves, and sliced cucumbers on top of the spread.

  5. 9

    Assemble the Sandwiches

Top with the remaining slices of bread, spread side down, to create sandwiches.

  6. 10

    Serve

Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
