Tuna Salad

Method

Tuna Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Tuna Salad

In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained canned tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped celery, chopped red onion, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Tuna Melt Assembly

  1. 2

    Toast the Bread

In a skillet over medium heat, melt a small amount of butter. Add the sourdough bread slices and toast until golden brown on both sides. Set aside.

  2. 3

    Assemble the Tuna Melt

On each slice of toasted sourdough bread, generously spread the prepared tuna salad. Top each with a slice of tomato and a slice of Swiss cheese.

  3. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Return the assembled tuna melts to the skillet over low heat. Cover the skillet with a lid to help melt the cheese. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the tuna melts from the skillet, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately while warm.
