Spaghetti

Method

Pomodoro Sauce

  1. 1

    Heat Olive Oil

In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Sauté Garlic

Add minced garlic to the olive oil and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes

Pour in the canned whole tomatoes, breaking them up with a spoon.

  4. 4

    Season Sauce

Stir in fresh basil leaves, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Meatballs

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 6

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.

  3. 7

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

  4. 8

    Bake Meatballs

Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.

Spaghetti

  1. 9

    Cook Spaghetti

While the sauce simmers and meatballs bake, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

To Serve

  1. 10

    Combine Everything

In a large serving bowl, toss the cooked spaghetti with the pomodoro sauce. Top with baked meatballs.

  2. 11

    Garnish

Sprinkle with additional grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves before serving.

  3. 12

    Toast Bread

Toast the sliced Italian bread until golden brown and serve on the side.
