Method

Preparing the Tea Base

  1. 1

    Steep the Tea

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  2. 2

    Cool the Tea

After steeping, remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature. You can speed this process by placing the tea in the refrigerator.

Making the Mango Syrup

  1. 3

    Prepare the Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of mango puree, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water. Stir well to combine.

  2. 4

    Cook the Syrup

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Stir occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved. This should take about 5 minutes.

  3. 5

    Cool the Syrup

Remove from heat and let the mango syrup cool to room temperature.

Assembling the Drink

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea and the mango syrup. Stir well to combine.

  2. 7

    Serve the Iced Tea

Fill glasses with ice cubes (about 1 cup per glass). Pour the mango iced tea over the ice.

  3. 8

    Garnish

Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves and a slice of lemon.
