Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions (4 oz each). Gently form them into loose balls, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill over medium-high heat until very hot (about 400°F).

  3. 3

    Smash the Patties

Place two beef balls on the hot surface and immediately smash them down with a sturdy spatula to create thin patties. Cook for about 3 minutes until a crust forms.

  4. 4

    Flip the Patties

Using the spatula, flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on top of each patty. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are finishing, slice the brioche buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a separate pan until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, spread a generous amount of Uncle Boojie’s Famous Bourbon Bacon Jam. Add two patties per burger, a handful of dill pickles, and top with the other half of the bun.
