Salad Base

Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Romaine Lettuce

Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Shake off excess water and chop into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Croutons

If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade croutons, cube bread into small pieces, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, and toast in the oven at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown.

  3. 3

    Grate the Parmesan Cheese

Using a grater, grate the parmesan cheese until you have about 1/2 cup ready for the salad.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Caesar Dressing

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1 minced garlic clove. Whisk until smooth and creamy.

  2. 5

    Season the Dressing

Add salt and black pepper to the dressing, adjusting to taste. Mix well to combine.

Combine and Serve

  1. 6

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, and grated parmesan cheese.

  2. 7

    Dress the Salad

Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the salad ingredients. Toss gently until everything is well coated.

  3. 8

    Serve

Divide the salad into bowls or plates and serve immediately.
