Waffle Batter

Method

Prepare the Waffle Batter

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Cook the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the heated waffle iron and close the lid. Cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until the waffles are golden brown.

  3. 6

    Repeat

Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the waffle iron as needed.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 7

    Prepare Fresh Fruits

Wash and slice the strawberries, blueberries, banana, and gala apples. If using bacon, cook until crispy and crumble.

  2. 8

    Whip the Cream

If using heavy cream, whip it until soft peaks form. Sweeten with a bit of sugar if desired.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 9

    Plate the Waffles

Place the cooked waffles onto serving plates.

  2. 10

    Add Toppings

Top each waffle with a generous dollop of whipped cream and your choice of additional toppings such as strawberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, pecans, sliced banana, cooked apples, or bacon.

  3. 11

    Serve Immediately

Serve the waffles immediately while warm, allowing guests to choose their favorite toppings.
