Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, pour it into the dry ingredients along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 7

    Shape Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll or stretch it into your desired shape and thickness.

  3. 8

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Transfer the shaped dough onto a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the surface, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese. Add pepperoni slices, sliced bell peppers, and sliced olives as desired.

  4. 9

    Add Parmesan and Basil

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the toppings and add fresh basil leaves.

  5. 10

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  6. 11

    Cool and Serve

Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve hot.
