Takeout That's Fair For All Recipe
We’re not your usual ordering app. We don’t believe in crazy-high commissions for independent restaurants, to start. Or marked-up menu prices for you. But we still have delivery and takeout from the best local restaurants–so dig in.

Cooking the Rice
- 1
Prepare the Rice
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rinsed rice and water in a pot, bringing it to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 2
Simmer
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it sit covered for another 10 minutes.
Cooking the Protein
- 3
Cook the Chicken (or alternative protein)
If using chicken, cut it into bite-sized pieces. In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. If using tofu, cut it into cubes and sauté until golden brown in the same oil.
- 4
Cook the Shrimp
If using shrimp, add them to the pan and sauté until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir-Frying Vegetables
- 5
Making the Sauce
- 6
Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger together.
- 7
Combine Sauce with Stir-Fry
Pour the sauce over the stir-fried protein and vegetables, stirring well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

- 8
Serve the Dish
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve it on plates. Top with the stir-fry mixture and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
