Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Ribeye

Thinly slice the ribeye steak against the grain into strips approximately 1/8 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and water until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Beef

Add the ribeye strips to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Cook the Onions

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Marinated Beef

Drain the ribeye from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and add the beef to the skillet with the onions. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through.

  3. 6

    Add Marinade and Green Onions

Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and add the chopped green onion. Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  4. 7

    Finish and Garnish

Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve hot.
