Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
Mince the Garlic
Peel and mince the garlic cloves.
- 3
Chop the Herbs
Chop the fresh thyme and parsley, and set aside for later use.
Cooking
- 4
Sear the Chicken
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- 5
Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the white wine and scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- 6
Add Cream and Herbs
Reduce the heat to low, stir in the heavy cream and chopped thyme. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 7
Combine Chicken with Sauce
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, coating them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
Garnishing and Serving
- 8
Prepare the Garnish
Sprinkle the chopped parsley and lemon zest over the chicken just before serving.
- 9
Serve
Serve the chicken hot with the creamy sauce drizzled over it. Pair it with crusty bread or over a bed of rice.
