Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Prepare the Mushroom Topping

  1. 4

    Sauté Mushrooms

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender and browned.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic and Butter

Add the minced garlic and butter to the skillet with the mushrooms. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Melt Cheese

Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.

  2. 7

    Assemble Ingredients

Toast the burger buns if desired. On each bottom bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the burger patty with melted cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of tomato. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.
