Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Cook the Protein

In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula, until fully cooked (about 8-10 minutes). Drain any excess fat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Toppings

While the beef is cooking, chop the green onions and cilantro. Set aside for later use.

Assembling the Nachos

  1. 3

    Layer the Chips

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). On a large baking sheet, spread the tortilla chips evenly to cover the surface.

  2. 4

    Add the Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the tortilla chips.

  3. 5

    Add the Protein

Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef over the cheese layer.

  4. 6

    Add the Jalapeños

Scatter the pickled jalapeños over the beef and cheese.

  5. 7

    Bake the Nachos

Place the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving the Nachos

  1. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the nachos from the oven and garnish with dollops of sour cream, guacamole, sliced green onions, and chopped cilantro. Serve immediately.
