Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut them in half, lengthwise.

Batter

  1. 2

    Make the Coating

In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Gradually add water to form a smooth batter.

Frying

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry the Brussels Sprouts

Dip each Brussels sprout half in the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Glaze

  1. 5

    Prepare the Honey Sriracha Glaze

In a small saucepan, combine honey, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over low heat, stirring until well mixed and slightly thickened, about 3-5 minutes.

  2. 6

    Toss the Brussels Sprouts

Place the fried Brussels sprouts in a large bowl and drizzle the honey sriracha glaze over them. Toss well to coat evenly.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve

Transfer the glazed Brussels sprouts to a serving platter and enjoy them hot as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
