Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- 2
Soak the Bread
Dip each slice of sourdough bread into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak for about 30 seconds on each side.
- 3
Cook the French Toast
In a skillet or griddle over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the soaked bread slices and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- 4
Make Brown Sugar Cinnamon Butter
In a small bowl, mix the remaining butter with brown sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon until well combined.
- 5
Cook the Bacon or Sausage
In a separate pan, cook the bacon or sausage according to package instructions until crispy and cooked through.
- 6
Assemble and Serve
Serve the French toast warm with a dollop of brown sugar cinnamon butter and a drizzle of maple syrup. Add the cooked bacon or sausage on the side.
