Cinnamon Roll Ingredients

Method

Cinnamon Roll Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Melt 1/2 cup of butter and let it cool slightly. Add eggs and salt to the yeast mixture, then stir in melted butter. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead and Rise

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Make the Filling

In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.

  4. 4

    Roll and Cut

Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

  5. 5

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Frosting

While the rolls are baking, make the frosting by beating together cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.

  7. 7

    Frost the Rolls

Once the rolls are baked, allow them to cool slightly before spreading the cream cheese frosting on top.
