Preparation

  1. 1

    Gather the Ingredients

Collect all the ingredients needed for the Scotch Negroni: Scotch whiskey, sweet vermouth, Campari, orange peel, ice cubes, and an orange slice.

  2. 2

    Chill the Glass

If desired, chill your serving glass (an old-fashioned glass or a rocks glass) by filling it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass, add 1 oz of Scotch whiskey, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 1 oz of Campari.

  2. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes (about 4 pieces) to the top.

  3. 5

    Stir

Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.

Serving

  1. 6

    Strain and Serve

Discard the ice water from the chilled glass, then strain the cocktail mixture into the glass filled with fresh ice.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Twist a piece of orange peel over the cocktail to release its oils, then add it to the glass as a garnish. Optionally, you can also add a slice of orange for a decorative touch.
