Salad Base

Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Romaine

Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Remove any wilted or damaged leaves. Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner.

  2. 2

    Chop the Lettuce

Chop the romaine into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

  3. 3

    Add Croutons

Add the croutons to the bowl with the chopped romaine.

  4. 4

    Add Parmesan Cheese

Grate the Parmesan cheese and sprinkle it over the salad.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Dressing

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the egg yolk, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice until well combined.

  2. 6

    Emulsify the Dressing

Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously until the dressing thickens and emulsifies.

  3. 7

    Season the Dressing

Add salt and black pepper to the dressing, adjusting to taste.

Combine and Serve

  1. 8

    Combine Salad and Dressing

Pour the Caesar dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine all ingredients evenly.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and croutons if desired.
