Cake Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it's ready for baking.
- 2
Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and large egg yolks until well combined and slightly thickened.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring constantly until fully incorporated.
- 5
Add Flour and Vanilla
Sift in the all-purpose flour and add the vanilla extract. Gently fold the mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 6
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Evenly divide the batter among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 8
Bake the Cakes
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.
