Beef Patties
Toppings
Method
Preparation of Beef Patties
- 1
Form the Patties
In a mixing bowl, take 1 pound of ground beef and divide it into two equal portions. Form each portion into a patty that is about 1/2 inch thick.
- 2
Season the Patties
In a small bowl, mix the dried ranch seasoning and ancho chili powder together. Generously sprinkle this mixture over both sides of the patties, ensuring even coverage.
Cooking the Patties and Bacon
- 3
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the strips of house-cured bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally. Once cooked, remove from the skillet and set aside on paper towels to drain excess grease.
- 4
Sear the Patties
In the same skillet with the bacon grease, increase the heat to medium-high. Add the beef patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until nicely browned. Flip the patties, and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to desired doneness.
Assemble the Burger
- 5
Prepare the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the potato buns in half. You can toast them in a separate skillet or toaster if desired.
- 6
Layer Ingredients
Spread a generous amount of chipotle ranch dressing on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked patty with melted cheddar cheese on top of the dressing. Add two strips of crispy bacon to each patty, followed by a layer of lettuce and slices of fresh tomato.
- 7
Finish and Serve
Top with the other half of the potato bun. Serve immediately while warm.
