Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil and season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it's very hot.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Place the steaks in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the steaks and add fresh rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time for your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. In a large pot, add the potatoes and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15-20 minutes until tender.

  2. 6

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steak for a delicious meal.
