Beef Marinade

Method

Marinating the Beef

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the steak is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.

Grilling the Beef

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Remove the flank steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F for medium-rare.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once grilled, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 6

    Slice the Beef

Thinly slice the grilled steak against the grain.

  2. 7

    Warm the Tortillas

While the steak is resting, warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Tacos

Take a warmed tortilla, add a few slices of beef, and top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, sliced jalapeños, and fresh cilantro.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side.
