Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

Melt Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals until melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
Making the Cake Batter

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined. Then, slowly stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
Adding Molten Center

Incorporate Melted Chocolate
Gently fold the melted chocolate mixture into the cake batter until evenly blended.
Baking

Pour and Bake
Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.

Cool the Cakes
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Dust and Serve
Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar. Optionally, serve with fresh berries and whipped cream.
