Chicken Wings

Crispy Garlic Topping

Sweet & Sour Sauce

Method

Preparing Chicken Wings

  1. 1

    Prepare the Wings

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Coat the Wings

In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Wings

Carefully add the coated chicken wings to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Making Crispy Garlic Topping

  1. 5

    Prepare the Garlic

Peel and thinly slice the garlic cloves.

  2. 6

    Fry the Garlic

In a small saucepan, heat the 0.25 cups of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain.

Preparing Sweet & Sour Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix the Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, ketchup, rice vinegar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, cornstarch, and water.

  2. 8

    Cook the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.

Final Assembly

  1. 9

    Serve the Wings

Place the fried chicken wings on a serving platter. Drizzle with the sweet and sour sauce and sprinkle the crispy garlic on top. Serve immediately.
