Goat Cheese Balls
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Goat Cheese Balls
In a mixing bowl, combine goat cheese, chopped basil, and salt. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In a shallow dish, add flour and season with black pepper. In another dish, beat the eggs. In a third dish, place breadcrumbs.
- 3
Batter the Cheese Balls
Roll each goat cheese ball in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.
- 4
Make the Beer Batter
In a large bowl, mix flour, beer, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Dip the breaded cheese balls into the beer batter until fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Cheese Balls
In a deep pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Carefully drop the beer-battered cheese balls into the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
