Salad Preparation

Prepare the Ingredients
Wash and dry all fresh produce thoroughly.

Chop the Iceberg Lettuce
Remove the core from the iceberg lettuce, chop into bite-sized pieces, and place in a large salad bowl.

Add Roasted Corn
If using canned corn, drain and rinse. If using fresh or frozen corn, roast it until slightly charred and add it to the salad bowl.

Add Garbanzo Beans
Rinse and drain the garbanzo beans, then add them to the salad bowl.

Chop the Tomato
Dice the vine-ripened tomato and add it to the salad bowl.

Chop the Green Pepper
Remove seeds and chop the green pepper into small pieces, then add them to the salad.

Slice the Red Onion
Finely slice the red onion and add to the salad bowl.

Chop the Cucumber
Peel (if desired) and chop the cucumber into small cubes and add to the salad.

Add Fresh Basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them over the salad.

Cook the Bacon
Cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it and add it to the salad.
