Method
Steak Preparation
- 1
Season the Steak
Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Heat the Pan
In a large skillet or grill pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 3
Cook the Steak
Add the seasoned steaks to the hot pan, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.
- 4
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
French Fry Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 6
Soak the Potatoes
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 8
Fry the Potatoes
Fry the soaked potatoes in batches, cooking for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.
Garlic Butter Preparation
- 9
Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 10
Add Garlic and Parsley
Finely mince the garlic cloves and add them to the melted butter along with chopped parsley and a pinch of salt. Stir and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
