Method
Tiramisu Directions
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the brewed espresso or strong coffee with the coffee liqueur. Set aside to cool.
Whisk the Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.
Incorporate Mascarpone
Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.
Whip the Cream
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
Combine Mixtures
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Soak Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
Layer the Tiramisu
In a 9x13 inch dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers, followed by half of the mascarpone mixture. Repeat with remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone.
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and slice into squares.
