Pickled Beets Ingredients

Method

Pickled Beets Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beets

Wash the fresh beets thoroughly under running water. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and boil until tender, about 30-40 minutes. Once cooked, cool, peel, and slice them into rounds.

  2. 2

    Make the Pickling Liquid

In a saucepan, combine white vinegar, water, sugar, salt, whole cloves, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar and salt dissolve.

  3. 3

    Combine Beets and Pickling Liquid

In a large jar or container, place the sliced beets and pour the hot pickling liquid over them. Ensure the beets are fully submerged.

  4. 4

    Cool and Refrigerate

Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving to let the flavors meld.
