Tartar Sauce

Method

Fish

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading

In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station: one with gluten-free flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with gluten-free breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  2. 2

    Bread the Fish

Dip each haddock fillet first into the flour, coating it evenly. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, followed by the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it adheres well.

  3. 3

    Fry the Fish

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom. Once hot, carefully place the breaded haddock fillets in the skillet and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Fries

  1. 4

    Prep the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thick fries.

  2. 5

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the cut fries with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  3. 6

    Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden.

Slaw

  1. 7

    Prepare the Vegetables

Shred the green cabbage and grate the carrot.

  2. 8

    Make the Dressing

In a large bowl, whisk together apple cider vinegar, mayonnaise, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 9

    Combine and Toss

Add the shredded cabbage and grated carrot to the bowl with the dressing. Toss until well combined and set aside to marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Tartar Sauce

  1. 10

    Mix the Tartar Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped pickles, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.

  2. 11

    Chill Before Serving

Refrigerate the tartar sauce for at least 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
