Lobster Tails

Butter Sauce

Method

Preparing the Lobster Tails

  1. 1

    Thaw the Lobster Tails

If the lobster tails are frozen, thaw them in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours or under cold running water for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

Prepare the Lobster Tails for Steaming

Using kitchen scissors, cut the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise down the center, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull the meat out and lay it on top of the shell for presentation.

Steaming the Lobster Tails

  1. 3

    Set Up the Steamer

Fill a large pot with about 2 inches of water and bring it to a boil. Place a steamer basket or rack in the pot, ensuring it does not touch the water.

  2. 4

    Steam the Lobster Tails

Place the prepared lobster tails in the steamer basket, cover the pot with a lid, and steam for about 8-10 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and firm to the touch.

Making the Butter Sauce

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter, ensuring it does not brown.

  2. 6

    Add Flavorings

Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

Serving the Dish

  1. 7

    Plate the Lobster Tails

Carefully remove the lobster tails from the steamer and place them on a serving platter. Drizzle the butter sauce over the lobster meat.

  2. 8

    Enjoy

Serve immediately with additional melted butter on the side for dipping.
