Baking the Cake Layers
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour four round cake pans.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Combine Mixtures
Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
Bake the Cake Layers
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cake layers have cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of chocolate sauce over the top.
Continue Layering
Add the second layer and repeat the process. Continue until all layers are stacked, finishing with a layer of chocolate sauce on top.
Decorate
Sprinkle chocolate shavings and fresh berries on top for decoration.
