Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the bone-in filet from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking throughout.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Oven

Preheat your grill to high heat (450°F to 500°F) or your oven to 400°F if you plan to finish the steak in the oven.

  3. 3

    Season the Steak

Drizzle olive oil over the steak and rub it evenly across the surface. Sprinkle salt and black pepper generously on both sides, followed by chopped fresh rosemary and minced garlic.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Place the bone-in filet on the grill or in a hot skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness. If using the oven, after searing, transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for an additional 5-7 minutes.

  5. 5

    Baste with Butter

In the last few minutes of cooking, add butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt and baste the steak with the melted butter using a spoon.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your flavorful bone-in filet!
