Ingredients for Organic Labneh
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Step 1: Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the full cream concentrated milk, skimmed cow's milk powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the powder is fully dissolved.
- 2
Step 2: Add Culture
Add the lactic acid culture to the mixture and stir well to ensure even distribution.
- 3
Step 3: Fermentation
Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen cloth and let it sit at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours, allowing it to ferment. The longer it ferments, the tangier the labneh will be.
- 4
Step 4: Strain the Labneh
After fermentation, line a fine mesh sieve with cheesecloth and pour the mixture into it. Gather the edges of the cheesecloth and tie it up, allowing the excess whey to drain out. Let it strain in the refrigerator for 6 to 8 hours or until it reaches your desired consistency.

Step 5: Serve
Once strained, transfer the labneh to a serving bowl. It can be drizzled with olive oil and served with pita bread, or used as a spread or dip.
