Cooking the Shrimp

Prepare the Cooking Liquid
In a large pot, combine water, lemon halves, Old Bay or Cajun seasoning, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Cook the Shrimp
Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.

Ice Bath
Remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately place them in an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes.

Drain
Drain the shrimp and set aside until ready to serve.
Making the Cocktail Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, mix together ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce until well combined. Adjust seasoning and heat to your preference.
