For the Hamburger

    Prepare the Patties

    In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal patties.

    Cook the Patties

    Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

    Add Cheese and Bacon

    In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook until melted. Cook the bacon in a separate pan until crispy.

    Assemble the Burger

    Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of the burger buns. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, and crispy bacon. Add the top half of the bun.

    In a bowl, mash the black beans until mostly smooth. Stir in breadcrumbs, egg, chili powder, cumin, onion, and garlic until well combined.
