Method

Preparation of Falafel

  1. 1

    Soak Chickpeas

Soak the dried chickpeas in water overnight or for at least 8 hours.

  2. 2

    Blend Ingredients

Drain the soaked chickpeas and add them to a food processor along with parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Blend until a coarse mixture forms.

  3. 3

    Add Flour

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add flour. Mix until well combined. If the mixture is too wet, add a bit more flour.

  4. 4

    Shape Falafel

Form the mixture into small balls or patties, about the size of a golf ball.

  5. 5

    Heat Oil

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

  6. 6

    Fry Falafel

Fry the falafel in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.
