Cooking Instructions

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces, yogurt, garlic paste, ginger paste, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

2

Prepare the Rice

Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain.

3

Cook the Chicken

In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown. Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through.

4

Add Tomatoes and Spices

Stir in the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, cilantro, mint leaves, and whole spices. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes are softened.

5

Layer the Rice

In the same pot, layer the soaked rice over the chicken mixture. Pour enough water to cover the rice and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 25 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked and water is absorbed.

6

Serve

Gently fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot, garnished with additional cilantro and mint if desired.
