Seasoning & Cooking Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Vegetables

Thinly slice the onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Steak

If using steak, slice it into thin strips. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. If using chicken, slice it into thin strips and season similarly.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they are soft. Add the mushrooms and cook for an additional 3 minutes. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak or Chicken

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Increase the heat to high and add the seasoned steak (or chicken). Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Return the sautéed vegetables to the skillet with the steak (or chicken). Add the salami slices and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until everything is heated through.

  4. 6

    Melt the Cheese

Lay the American cheese slices over the meat and vegetable mixture in the skillet. Cover with a lid and let it melt for about 1-2 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Prepare the Sub Rolls

Slice the sub rolls open lengthwise without cutting all the way through.

  2. 8

    Fill the Sub Rolls

Spoon the steak and vegetable mixture into each sub roll, ensuring an even distribution. Serve immediately.
