Chips Preparation

Fry the Tortillas
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, cut the corn tortillas into quarters to create chips.

Fry the Chips
Fry the tortilla pieces in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Vegetables
While the chips are frying, slice the onion and chop the tomatoes. Set aside.

If using any protein, ensure that it is cooked and diced into bite-sized pieces.

On a large baking sheet, layer the fried corn chips evenly. Top with the diced onions, chopped tomatoes, banana peppers, jalapeños, and shredded cheddar cheese.
