Method

Chips Preparation

  1. 1

    Fry the Tortillas

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, cut the corn tortillas into quarters to create chips.

  2. 2

    Fry the Chips

Fry the tortilla pieces in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the chips are frying, slice the onion and chop the tomatoes. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Proteins (if adding)

If using any protein, ensure that it is cooked and diced into bite-sized pieces.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Nachos

On a large baking sheet, layer the fried corn chips evenly. Top with the diced onions, chopped tomatoes, banana peppers, jalapeños, and shredded cheddar cheese.

  2. 6

    Add Protein (optional)

If adding protein, sprinkle the cooked chicken, garlic chicken, shrimp, or steak evenly over the nachos.

Baking

  1. 7

    Melt the Cheese

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the assembled nachos in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Warm

Remove the nachos from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Nacho Mamma's Nachos with your favorite salsa or guacamole!
