Method
Burger Preparation
- 1
- 2
Form the Patties
In a mixing bowl, take the ground beef and form it into two equal-sized patties. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 3
Cook the Patties
In the same skillet used for the bacon, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- 4
Melt the Cheese
In the last minute of cooking the patties, place a slice of provolone cheese on top of each patty to melt.
- 5
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, split the burger buns and toast them on a separate skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.
Make the Glaze
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the Jack Daniel's whiskey, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- 7
Simmer the Glaze
Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Allow it to reduce for about 10 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
Assemble the Burger
- 8
Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each toasted burger bun, place a leaf of lettuce, then the cooked beef patty with melted provolone, followed by a slice of tomato, pickles, and the crispy bacon.
- 9
Add the Glaze
Drizzle the homemade sweet Jack Daniel’s glaze over the top of the burger.
- 10
Finish the Burger
Top with the other half of the burger bun and serve immediately.
