Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate Crunch

Strawberry Puree

Method

Cocoa Puffs Preparation

  1. 1

    Melt the Chocolate

In a microwave-safe bowl, add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.

  2. 2

    Coat the Cocoa Puffs

Pour the melted chocolate over the cocoa puffs in a large bowl and stir gently until all the cocoa puffs are well-coated.

  3. 3

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

Sprinkle the cocoa powder over the coated cocoa puffs and toss gently to ensure an even coating. Set aside to cool and harden.

Chocolate Mousse Preparation

  1. 4

    Melt the Chocolate for Mousse

In a saucepan, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 5

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.

  3. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until fully combined.

  4. 7

    Beat the Egg Whites

In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture until no white streaks remain.

  5. 8

    Chill the Mousse

Transfer the mousse to a bowl or individual serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.

Chocolate Crunch Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare Crunch Mixture

In a bowl, mix together chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until well combined.

  2. 10

    Layer the Crunch

Take the prepared chocolate crunch mixture and layer it on the bottom of each stemless martini glass.

Strawberry Puree Preparation

  1. 11

    Blend Strawberries

In a blender, combine fresh hulled strawberries and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth and pureed.

  2. 12

    Strain if Desired

If you prefer a smoother puree, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.

Assembly

  1. 13

    Layer the Components

In each martini glass, layer the chocolate mousse over the chocolate crunch, then add a layer of cocoa puffs on top.

  2. 14

    Finish with Strawberry Puree

Drizzle the strawberry puree over the top of the dessert for a beautiful presentation.

  3. 15

    Serve

Chill the assembled dessert for an additional 30 minutes before serving for the best texture.
