Season the Steak
Pat the USDA Choice grade beef steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir well over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.

Thicken the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Add this mixture to the saucepan, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat.
Serving the Dish

Slice the Steak
Once the steak has rested, slice it thinly against the grain.

Arrange the sliced steak on a plate, drizzle with the prepared teriyaki sauce, and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
