Method

Shrimp Appetizer

  1. 1

    Marinate the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine shrimp, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, lemon juice, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the shrimp evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.

Hibachi Vegetables

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a separate skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add sliced zucchini, bell pepper, mushrooms, and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crisp.

  2. 4

    Season the Vegetables

Add soy sauce and salt to the vegetables, stirring well to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

Miso Soup

  1. 5

    Prepare the Soup Base

In a pot, bring dashi stock (or vegetable broth) to a simmer over medium heat.

  2. 6

    Add Miso and Tofu

Dissolve the miso paste in a small amount of warm dashi and then add it to the pot. Stir well. Add cubed tofu and let it cook for 3-5 minutes.

  3. 7

    Finish the Soup

Garnish with sliced green onions and seaweed (if using) before serving.

Steamed Rice

  1. 8

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 9

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine rinsed rice with water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until water is absorbed.

  3. 10

    Fluff the Rice

Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Ice Cream

  1. 11

    Serve the Ice Cream

Scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones and serve immediately after the meal as a refreshing dessert.
