Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Scallops

Rinse the sea scallops under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Remove any side muscle attached to the scallops.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely using a knife or garlic press.

  3. 3

    Chop the Parsley

Finely chop the fresh parsley leaves and set aside for garnish.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Sear the Scallops

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the scallops (make sure not to overcrowd the pan) and season with salt and black pepper. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and opaque.

  2. 5

    Prepare Garlic Butter

While the scallops are cooking, in a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown the garlic.

  3. 6

    Combine and Serve

Once the scallops are cooked, remove them from the skillet and place them on a serving plate. Drizzle the garlic butter over the scallops, and finish with fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley for garnish.
