Method
Marinate the Steak
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
- 2
Marinate the Steak
Place the ribeye steaks in a zip-lock bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).
Cook the Rice
- 3
Rinse the Rice
Rinse 1 cup of jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- 4
Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, 1.5 cups of water, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
