Filet Mignon

Method

Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steaks

Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This allows for even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steaks

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the filet mignon and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Butter and Herbs

In the last minute of cooking, add butter and rosemary to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks to enhance flavor.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Teriyaki Chicken

  1. 6

    Make the Teriyaki Sauce

In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.

  2. 7

    Marinate the Chicken

Place chicken breasts in a resealable bag and pour the teriyaki sauce over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

  3. 8

    Cook the Chicken

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  4. 9

    Thicken the Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine the reserved teriyaki marinade with cornstarch and water. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 10

    Serve the Chicken

Slice the chicken and drizzle the thickened teriyaki sauce over the top. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
